In Windows Operating System
You cannot create a folder in any part of the computer with the name 'con'.
Create a new folder by Right Click-> New -> Folder
Then Right Click on it and check whether you can change it to the name 'con'.
I do not know the REASON for this. If you can,answer me.

well!! its not only CON but also there are few names like COM1,LPT1,PRN,AUX,NUL etc.. which cannot be named/renamed to a folder.
ReplyDeleteThese are all reserved device names in some specific windows devices.They are included in IO.SYS and DATE and in existence from the early MS-DOS days.for example:CON is reserved for Console(combination of keyboard and screen to handle input and output),
PRN is for Printer,NUL is for dummy port and also denotes a null device in LINUX,/dev/null.
